PREPPING FOR YOUR COSMETIC TATTOO
Thank you for choosing Elevate Lash Lounge Inc.! We are excited to show you how cosmetic tattooing (also known as permanent make-up or PMU) can be used to enhance your unique facial features. Here’s a few tips on how to prepare for your new ink before your visit.
If you’re considering getting a cosmetic brow tattoo, then I suggest you listen to this podcast episode to know how you can prepare yourself before the procedure.
I also interviewed some of our clients and ask them about their Cosmetic Brow Tattoo experience with us. This will help you understand better how you can make your brow tattoo a success. Listen to the episode below.
BOOKING YOUR APPOINTMENT
Please note that we are a busy studio- it is recommended to book at least one month in advance for your permanent makeup appointment to ensure availability.
Please book your first PMU appointment using our online Booking page for all permanent make-up brow, lip, lash enhancement or eyeliner services.
Touch-up PMU appointments should be scheduled at the time of initial appointment to ensure studio availability in a timely manner.
To respect the time of our artists and waitlist clients, a 50% non–refundable deposit plus GST is required to schedule and secure your PMU appointment and is deducted from the total price due at your appointment. This deposit is to ensure that you are committed to undergoing a cosmetic tattoo. If you cancel or miss your appointment, you will forfeit your deposit. Please email Jenna@elevatelash.ca or DM us if you need to change your appointment time.
We think listening to this podcast will help you decide about the right brow enhancement before booking an appointment.
BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
For the best healed results, we recommend:
- You do not consume alcohol, caffeine or blood thinners (aspirin, ibuprofen, Niacin, fish/primrose oil) 48 hours before your PMU procedure.
- Avoid laser, facials, botox / fillers, chemical peels, exfoliation and retinol product within 3 to 4 weeks of your cosmetic tattoo.
- We need wait 6-8 weeks before and after receiving a laser treatment so that the permanent make up has a chance to heal in optimal conditions.
And complete the following cosmetic procedures prior to your brow tattoo:
- Brow waxing & shaping (2 days in advance)
- Brow tinting (1 week in advance)
Please avoid tanning bed & sun exposure for 30 days BEFORE and AFTER your PMU procedure. This is crucial to achieve the best healed results! As your skin exfoliates from a tan or sunburn, it will take the tattoo pigment with it- therefore if you arrive with signs of sun exposure, we will unfortunately have to reschedule your appointment and you will forfeit your deposit.

What you can expect from your permanent make-up experience at Elevate Lash Lounge Inc :
Cosmetic Tattoo Consultation & Design: (30 min) Your artist will meet with you and create a plan for your cosmetic tattoo. Please bring photos of permanent make-up examples that are similar to the look you’re hoping to achieve on people with similar features as you. As artists, we will work with you to design your custom cosmetic tattoo to elevate your natural features. From there, we choose a pigment match based on your skin tone and hair color. We will also discuss PMU aftercare and healing during this time.
Numbing: (30 min) Prior to your PMU procedure, a topical anesthetic (5% lidocaine ointment) is applied. We will also layer an additional numbing agent during the tattooing to increase your comfort. Clients have actually fallen asleep during their cosmetic tattoo procedures with us, so please rest assured that we will do everything we can to make sure you are as comfortable as possible during the process.
Tattooing: (Duration dependant on service) Your tattoo artist will carefully implant pigment to subtly elevate your natural features (lips, brows or eyes) within the pre-designed and approved shape & pigment.
During your Cosmetic Brow Tattoo appointment, I want to make sure you’ll have the best experience and brow retention as much as possible so I highly suggest you listen to this episode to help you prepare yourself when coming in for your appointment.
