MICRO-NEEDLING AFTERCARE
The healed results from your micro-needling treatments depend greatly on your lifestyle, sun exposure & how you take care of your skin during the healing process and beyond. Every client’s skin responds differently, in healing time & the number of sessions required to achieve your desired results; 3-4 micro-needling sessions are usually required for optimal visible results. The information below acts only as a guideline to maximize healed results; individual results however cannot be guaranteed due to numerous biological & environmental factors that are out of our control.

WHAT TO EXPECT
After the procedure, you may experience slight discomfort in the area of micro-needling. Clients often describe it as a sensation similar to a sunburn (tightness, redness and slight swelling). Symptoms & swelling will gradually subside within 24 to 48 hours.
Minimal scabbing or flaking of the skin is normal throughout the first day or two of the healing period. DO NOT itch or remove skin as it sheds until after 48 hours.
During the healing process, please avoid the following to maximize your results and avoid complications:
- Avoid touching your skin unnecessarily to prevent acne & infection- always use gloves or wash hands before touching treated skin.
- Avoid working out, sun exposure, sun beds, soaking in hot water, etc within 48 hours of treatment… SERIOUSLY!! Sweating & UV will cause irritation to your skin and in worst case scenarios can initiate a trauma healing response in your skin that will negate any benefits from micro-needling.
- Vaseline, Neosporin and any other petroleum based products. Please only use the approved Hyaluronic Acid provided for you in your aftercare kit within 24 hours of treatment. Application of makeup on the micro-needled area for 24 hours, 100% pure mineral powder is acceptable within the first 24 hours if absolutely necessary.
- Swimming pools, hot tubs or other bodies of water for 1 week.
- Avoid sunscreen for 48 hours. Afterwards the use of a mineral based sunscreen is recommended daily.
- Exfoliation products.
- Massages, facials or intensive skin treatments.
CARING FOR YOUR MICRO-NEEDLING TREATMENT
MICRO-NEEDLING (HEALING TIME 6 WEEKS FOR FULL HEALING)
Micro-needling requires more than one treatment for optimal results. While the first session only initiates the healing process, most clients do see improvements in their skin in as little as one session.
WHAT TO EXPECT Day 1-2 Treated area(s) will experience moderate swelling, tightness, possible flaking and redness. These symptoms usually subside in 24 hours (max 48- if you experience these symptoms beyond 48 hours please consult a physician to rule out infection). Avoid UV rays & touching your skin. Use Hyaluronic Acid in aftercare kit to ensure face is continuously moisturized & facial mask to calm redness/swelling.
Day 4-7 Expect some flaking of the skin, ok to gently remove with warm washcloth. Try to avoid UV and/or use a mineral based sunscreen.
Day 7-42 Return to normal skin regime, avoid harsh exfoliants & cleansers.
