Jenna: So we've been talking a lot about lash lifts, slightly and brow lifts. And what the difference is between heat based and a chemical-based solution and what this can mean to you and your clients. And so I've gotten a lot of inquiries because the chemical composition is so different and people might not exactly understand what the differences are and what that means to them.

So just to go over lash lift or brow lamination is basically a perm that provides a four to six-ish week-long lift to the brows reorganization of the hair, or lift to the lashes so that you don't have to curl or use a brow gel or anything like that. And it's also nicknamed lash perm or brow lamination.

These are all very similar services. It's just the styling of the lashes or the brows that is changed up. So there are some solutions that are better. To use for this. I don't ever recommend a chemical-based solution for brow lamination because of the way the, the hairs are arranged. You're going to end up likely overprocessing a lot easier.

So to process with a heat based, you don't have the possibility of overprocessing and it's a lot easier. So anyway, let's get into the reasons why these are so different. Well, lash lifts and brow lifts, our advertised as being safe. The process itself does include a lot of chemicals, including manufactured.

Keratin. Keratin is obviously not as dangerous for us. It's naturally found in our hair. So it actually can offer some hydrating and strengthening factors in there. So generally lash brow artist is gonna apply, uh, glue to the eyelid position, uh, silicone pad, or lift up the brow hairs with either adhesive or just the debonding solution.

Um, and then the chemicals in the debonder are going to break up the strands of hair a little bit, making it possible to reshape the hair. So it’s taking off the really hard or like the outer layer that is holding the hair in its original structure so that we can reshape it. And so the application of the other solution. Generally, shape and stops the initial process of reforming the deified bonds in your hair.

And then of course, usually those lashes or brows are tinted to just add a little bit more of a definition to it, which is like includes more chemical interaction for the eye and more chance for sensitivity. So generally in a chemical-based solution, the perming solution is comb through the eyelashes to break down the shaft and encourage hair to bend or realign in the case of brows to the shape of the curler or the pad in the lash lift application or the direction that we. Encouraged it to go into and hold them with plastic wrap with the brow lamination. So unfortunately the beauty industry is not as regulated as the medical industry.

So companies don't have to disclose the amounts or percentages to customers used in the procedure. Health Canada has come in and reduced the amounts of some of these toxic chemicals that are banned in other countries, but even just reducing them, doesn't really make up for the reasoning why they are banned in other countries and still safe here.

Considered safe here. And so that's why it's awesome that we can have products like the heated lash lift, because it takes out lots of those banned products from other countries. And it's just not even a consideration anymore with that one. So, because lashes are mostly consisting of keratin, the curling lotion or the demander is.

The main ingredient that breaks the sulfide bonds in the carriage to make it possible, to give the new shape. And it is the most aggressive of all the lotions that can be used. And this is not the same with the heated system, because instead of using these aggressive ways to break the bond, we are applying heat and using a much less toxic and, uh, caustic, chemical.

That causes a lot less irritation in the eyes and prevents a lot of allergic reactions and redness and suffering from the client, which also means that you can get a deeper tint, usually, because if your client's not already red and suffering by time, they get to the tinting step. Then the tinting is a little bit more touchy generally on the eyes.

Then you are gonna be able to leave it on longer, and you're gonna get a better, deeper tint that. So the following harsh ingredients are usually found in curling or lifting lotions or like the Dooner, which is most often used to break down the keratin. Usually a mixture of them is used to achieve the desired results.

And the main offender is Thioglycolic acid. This ingredient is restricted for use in Canada, and is advised to minimize contact. Skin or eyes because of the high risk of burns irritation and chemical injury. Ammonium Bicarbonate is also another typical one contact with this can cause irritation in the skin and eyes.

Um, anything with ammonium in the name is an offending chemical. Another chemical called Ethanolamine is a corrosive chemical, and can cause severe irritation and burn the skin, um, and eyes with possible damage. And then also Methylparaben. You've probably heard of all different types of parabens. They're used to preserve lots of different things in makeup, skincare and hair care hairs have gotten a lot of negative publicity for their ability to mimic estrogen and possibly even trigger breast cell division and the growth of tumors or cancer. So keep in mind, these findings are only correlations at this point. They haven't been definitely proven in long-term studies, but where there is smoke there's fire. And usually, you want to start avoiding these things. If you can. Sooner than later when they're banned and you've been using them for years.

And you're realizing that these cancerous effects could have had an effect on you because you've been using them for eight to 10 hours shifts and breathing all that stuff in. So this is very important. It's not just for the client. This is for you and your health and your working conditions every day, when you are choosing your product line and you're deciding, am I going to.

Stick with the traditional lash lift because it's what I know what's easy. Or am I going to like upgrade my skills and invest in a little bit more of a luxurious service that is preventing damage to my own health. These are like really important questions to think about and identify what's going on underneath the chemical composition of your so.

So what's the revolutionary about the heated lash lift versus the chemical lash lift or like the heated ones? Like our luxury lash lift that we provide through elevate beauty supply is that it does not contain perm salts as it's de bonding agent. This is major because it uses. Sine HCL, an amino acid of keratin, which is like what your hair is really made of to demand and reshape the natural lash.

It is so gentle actually, so gentle that you can slow process and it requires heat instead of the extra chemicals. And so, because it uses heat and. Aggressive chemicals. And it is just a gentle amino acid from basically like a hair type structure. You cannot over process lashes or browse, which is huge.

It also means that you're creating less damage and less exposure to yourself with all these toxic chemicals. It's so gentle this slow process. Requires heat to activate instead of the extra chemicals that are in the traditional. And so it is a little bit slower to process, but because of that, it cannot possibly over process your lashes or brows, which is amazing, especially for brow lamination, because if you do brow lamination, you know how easy it is, especially to over process, really fine hairs or not get the full.

That you want out of there, the lasting lift. So our formula actually infuses keratin into the cortex of the lash and conditions and strengthens the individual lash it's conditioning and strengthening, and has the added bonus of lifting the lashes or the brows in the process. And there are very few products like it.

On the market. It is free from Theo glyco acid and sodium bromate, which are the main ingredients used in a lot of different lash lift products and two ingredients that were recently banned Canada. The heated lash lift is also safe for most people that have sensitivities, which is really awesome. It's basically using this protein that is naturally found in the hair and nails, and this protein will help to strengthen and protect.

Lashes from damage, but it also can be used in this specific way to realign the structure of the hair and reshape it into either curl or, or fluffy brows. And so, again, I can't speak for all heat based lash lifts that are like Carin based, but ours for sure is Theo ate free. Paran free and ammonia free, which is a covers a lot of the top irritants from traditional chemical based lash lifts.

Like the ones that we all originally started on that are so popular still out there. And I would just encourage you to really look into this and decide, are you willing to sacrifice your health in this way or is cutting down? The service time by like one or two minutes, really that much more important if you potentially have to redo it or burn your customer's lashes and brows, and they have to have them regrow for three months before they're back to normal.

In my opinion, no, especially like if you're running a salon, just having the chance of having an employee, having a bad day, the possibility of them coming to a. Maybe hungover or just fighting with their boyfriend or something and forgetting their timer and then them ruining your client slashes or brows.

And then having that three month period of everyone asking them what happened to your brows? That bad word of mouth. It's just not worth it to me personally. Um, also when I'm doing these services, I just wanna know that I am increasing the health of my client's hair. And so there's not, uh, something that's gonna happen over time.

Like where, for instance, they go to use their lash curler and their lashes are a little crispy or just deep, dry from getting so many chemical lifts back to back and they start to have breakage or damage. We don't need to deal with these things anymore because science. So , we also don't need to expose ourselves to more cancerous, uh, chemicals than we needed to before.

So all these different reasons, I think it's a no-brainer switch to a heated lash lift. It doesn't have to be ours, but we will put a link below for you to check it out. And there's a couple different on the market. I'm sure right now. And just do your research, make sure that. They are they gonna be the right things for you?

I know that we have a promotion on right now, really easy to learn, but why not take the educational program and then your results are gonna be consistent and you can add another certificate to you all, which is always awesome. But until the end of July, we're actually giving away our educational program for free.

With everyone who purchases, uh, kit. So in general, you're gonna be doing like maybe as little as three services and paying off this kit and being trained for free. And the minimum that you would make off of this kit after is like about $1,700. So it's a brainer to invest in all you have to do to get free course is purchase the kit, send us a previous copy of your certification and we will send you access to the course right away. So if you have any other questions or you wanna pick my brain about lash lift or lashes, I would love to talk to you if you're new to this industry and you need some guidance, just shoot me a DM.
