LASH EXTENSION AFTERCARE
The longevity of your new lash extensions will depend greatly on your lifestyle & hair type as well as how well you take care of your lash extensions during the curing process and beyond. Every client’s lash hair will respond differently to how well it will hold a lash extension, generally, this works out that the stronger the natural lash, the better the lash retention. For better lash retention with thinner/weaker lashes try switching to lighter volume lashes or the lightest individual lash used in building mega volume fans. You can also use our Lash Conditioner for fuller, longer & healthier lashes. At Elevate Lash Lounge Inc., we guarantee your lashes during the lash adhesive curing process (within 72 hours of application); your results afterward however cannot be guaranteed due to numerous biological & environmental factors that are out of our control.
WHAT TO EXPECT
After the application of eyelash extensions, you may experience slight redness and discomfort in the area of your eye. Redness & irritation should subside within 24 hours; although reactions are rare they do happen on rare occasions so please seek medical attention if you believe you have had a more serious allergic reaction.
During the first couple of days, lash extensions will initially appear to be darker, bolder, and more sharply defined. You can generally expect to shed 20% of your lash extensions per week-however this varies by individual and lifestyle.
To avoid loss of lashes, DO NOT itch or rub lashes.
Please make note of any adjustments and changes you would like to see in your lashes, we can continue to tweak and change your style from lash fill to ensure you have the perfect lash line.
During the adhesive curing process (72 hours after application), please avoid the following for best lash retention:
- Working out heavy sweating pulls oils from your skin down onto your lash adhesive weakening the bond.
- Application of makeup on the lash line or lashes.
- Overbrushing of lashes, will weaken the bond of your glue.
- Direct water or steam on the lash extensions and the use of cleansers, soaps, and heavy creams. Wash around the eyelids using a cleaning cloth or oil-free makeup wipe.
- Exposure to tanning beds.
- Massages, facials, or intensive skin treatments in the eye area.
CARING FOR YOUR NEW LASH EXTENSIONS:
You will be given a mascara wand to brush your lashes. Lash Wash Pen to keep your lashes clean are available for purchase at your appointment and highly recommended for the best retention.
LASH RETENTION TIPS:
Brush your lashes as often as you would brush your hair (when you notice it tangled or messy).
Wash your lashes daily to prevent Blepharitis (lash mites), dead skin & oily residue from building up.
Do not use oil-based products around the eye area as they break down the lash adhesive. Oil-free mascara and eyeliner are available for purchase at your appointment.
Use a lash sealant (available for purchase at your appointment) to seal out oil from contacting your lash adhesive- especially if you lead an active life or are not diligent in your lash wash routine.
Our Lash Conditioner can be used safely ontop of your lash extensions to help keep your natural lashes healthy & fuller.
Do not pull or pick at your lashes- if for any reason something is bugging you about your lashes please get in touch with us and we will fit you in to sort it out for you.
Use a bubble sleep mask if you are a restless sleeper to improve lash retention (available for purchase at your appointment).
